Cellular Pleomorphic Adenoma in the Left Parotid Gland
Parotid Tumor Surgery in Istanbul by Prof. Cetin Vural, M.D.
Our 37-year-old female patient presented with a 4-5 year history of swelling under the left ear. Upon examination, a tumor consistent with the size of 16x10mm was found in the left parotid salivary gland. The patient underwent a superficial parotidectomy to preserve the facial nerve. The excised tissues were examined histopathologically and reported as ‘cellular type (rich in cells) pleomorphic adenoma’.
Our patient was discharged without any complications on the second day following the surgery.
