Prof. Dr. Çetin Vural obtained his medical degree from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1984.

After completing his mandatory service, he started his specialization in Otorhinolaryngology at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital, becoming an Otorhinolaryngology specialist in 1990. He began working as a chief resident at the same hospital’s Otorhinolaryngology clinic and became the deputy head of the Otorhinolaryngology clinic at Şişli Etfal Hospital in 1998 after passing the required exams. He obtained the title of Associate Professor in the field of Otorhinolaryngology after completing the necessary exams and stages in April 2003.

During this period, he worked in the field of head, neck, and ear diseases and participated in scientific research during a 3-month period in Indianapolis, USA, in 1994, and at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the USA during 2000-2001. He also visited the Endocrine Surgery Center of Pisa University in Italy, headed by Professor Paolo Miccoli, in 2005, and the General and Visceral Surgery Department of Halle University in Germany, headed by Henning Dralle, in 2009, to gain knowledge and experience in innovative approaches to thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

In February 2012, Dr. Çetin Vural was appointed as a Professor and became the Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine. He held this position until December 2017. Currently, Dr. Çetin Vural continues his work at Acıbadem Kadıköy Hospital.
